The St. Louis Rams on Thursday selected Clemson offensive tackle Isaiah Battle in the fifth round of the NFL Supplemental Draft.

Battle was the only player selected, and he is the first supplemental draft pick since 2012. The Rams selected Georgia running back Todd Gurley with the 10th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft back in May. The addition of Battle bolsters the team’s depth on the offensive line.

Off-the-field issues likely played a part in Battle not being drafted in May.

The Rams surrendered a 2016 fifth-round pick to take Battle. They currently have just five picks in the 2016 draft.
