Fantasy Football: DeMarco Murray, Isaiah Crowell In Week 6 Starts, Sits

If you drafted DeMarco Murray or Lamar Miller this season, chances are you aren’t a happy camper. But that doesn’t mean it’s time to pack up the tent just yet.

The fantasy season is a long one, and while Murray and Miller have been major disappointments to date, there’s still plenty of time to turn things around. We believe that time could be now, as the embattled running backs have a pair of favorable matchups that could be enough to get them back on the right track.

Some other big names, however, aren’t so lucky.

Check out who we’d start and sit for the Week 6 slate.

STARTS
Andy Dalton, Quarterback, Cincinnati Bengals: Dare we call Dalton an elite fantasy QB? He’s certainly looked like it of late, tallying 300-plus passing yards in each of his last three starts. With a matchup against a Buffalo Bills defense that’s given up the fourth-most points to opposing quarterbacks in standard-scoring leagues, Dalton once again is a solid QB1 this week.

DeMarco Murray, Running Back, Philadelphia Eagles: We know Murray has burned you this season, but it’s time to give him another shot. Murray eclipsed 100 total yards for the first time this season in Week 5 on a season-high 20 carries. While he’s still not the Murray of old, a home matchup against the New York Giants on Monday night is enough for us to trust him as a Week 6 fantasy starter.

Lamar Miller, Running Back, Miami Dolphins: Miller also has been a big-time bust this season, but we’re willing to give him another shot. The Tennessee Titans have allowed 117 rushing yards per game this season, and with a new head coach at the helm in Miami, it’s possible Miller finally could get the sizable workload he deserves.

Jeremy Maclin, Wide Receiver, Kansas City Chiefs: Maclin got off to a slow start, but his 27 catches over the last three weeks are evidence he’s a major part of this offense. With Jamaal Charles out for the season, expect Maclin to take on even more of a workload against an average Minnesota Vikings defense.

Donte Moncrief, Wide Receiver, Indianapolis Colts: Moncrief put up an absolute clunker in Week 5, but don’t let that deter you. He’s still second on the team in targets behind T.Y. Hilton, and with Andrew Luck on pace to return against a New England Patriots secondary that gives up plenty of yardage, Moncrief should be right back in the mix as a WR2.

SITS
Cam Newton, Quarterback, Carolina Panthers: The Seattle Seahawks have allowed a total of 263 passing yards and zero passing touchdowns through two home games this season. Sure, it was against Jimmy Clausen and Matthew Stafford, but if you have another QB besides Newton on your roster, give him strong consideration.

Jeremy Hill, Running Back, Cincinnati Bengals: Hill hasn’t rushed for more than 63 yards this season and largely has been touchdown-dependent. That’s not a good sign in a road matchup against a stout Buffalo Bills defense that’s surrendered just two TDs on the ground through five games.

Isaiah Crowell, Running Back, Cleveland Browns: Crowell found the end zone with a touchdown reception last week, but he had the same amount of total touches (15) as backup Duke Johnson. With a matchup against the impenetrable Denver Broncos defense looming, it might be best to avoid Cleveland’s backfield altogether.

Jordan Matthews, Wide Receiver, Philadelphia Eagles: This Eagles offense has been all over the place this season, and Matthews has struggled as a result, tallying 50 yards or less in each of the last three weeks. The Giants have been decent against the pass, so we’re staying away.

Jordan Cameron, Tight End, Miami Dolphins: We’re not a fan of Jordans this week. Cameron has been virtually non-existent over the past two weeks, and the Tennessee Titans have been stingy against opposing tight ends since getting torched in Week 1.
