Jordon Ibe is eager to see how Jurgen Klopp can help shape his personal development further after the German was appointed as Liverpool’s new manager last week.

The winger has been away on youth international duty with England while the Reds have hired the man who won a pair of Bundesliga titles with Borussia Dortmund.

Ibe currently is concentrating on his country’s U-21 UEFA European Championship qualifier against Kazakhstan at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on Tuesday. But the 19-year-old is already giving thought to making the most of Klopp’s expertise once he returns to training at Melwood later this week.

“I can’t wait to get back and start working with him now,” Ibe told TheFA.com. “I can only try to get better with the help he’s hopefully going to provide for me, and there’s a lot of other young players, so working around him should be great and also for the senior players in the squad.

“It’s a shame (about Brendan Rodgers), because he was an important man in my career. But that’s how football is. There are no promises in football, and I wish him all the best for the future.

“I now need to focus and work under the new manager. He’s got good experience and did some great stuff with Borussia Dortmund.”
