A New York Giants fan took the NFC East rivalry between the G-Men and the Philadelphia Eagles to a new level this week, placing a Giants jersey on Philadelphia’s beloved Rocky Balboa statue.
The statue is based on Sylvester Stallone’s fictional character Rocky Balboa, a Philadelphia boxer who always inspires the crowd as the underdog. Rocky is a beloved figure in Philadelphia pop culture lore, so seeing a New York jersey over his shoulders is nothing short of blasphemous.
The jersey turned out to be bad luck, though, as the Giants lost 27-7.
