Jamie Vardy literally can’t stop scoring.
Vardy tied one of the Premier League’s hallowed records Saturday when he scored the opening goal in Leicester City’s 3-0 win over Newcastle United. Vardy’s goal extended his Premier League goal-scoring streak to 10 games, tying him with former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy for the longest in the division’s history.
Vardy struck in first-half stoppage time by cutting inside and beating goalkeeper Rob Elliot with a powerful strike.

Vardy leads the Premier League’s Golden Boot race with 13 goals in as many games.
Coincidentally, van Nistelrooy set the 10-game mark against Newcastle at St. James’ Park back in 2003. The Dutchman’s streak spanned the end of the 2002-03 and start of the 2003-04 seasons.
Vardy, 28, can make the record his own next Saturday in front of his home fans and against Manchester United.
Vardy’s achievement isn’t bad for any player, let alone one who was playing outside of England’s Football League (top four divisions) as recently as 2012.
