FOXBORO, Mass. — Bill Belichick is no Scrooge.
The New England Patriots head coach gave his team the day off on Christmas, players confirmed Thursday in the locker room. The Patriots practiced Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week but are able to spend Christmas Day with their families, friends and teammates.
The Patriots seemed appreciative for the day off. The Patriots will reconvene Saturday to travel to New Jersey and hold a walk-through before Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.
