The Phenomenal One has arrived.

AJ Styles made his much-anticipated WWE debut Sunday night at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla. He was the third entrant in the Royal Rumble match, ending weeks of speculation about the wrestling legend’s impending arrival to the company.

Styles is best-known for his work with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. He’s one of the most popular sports entertainers on the planet, and the crowd treated him as such when he made his surprise debut with the WWE world heavyweight title on the line.

Styles, who joined the Royal Rumble match with Roman Reigns in the ring, lasted nearly 28 minutes in the over-the-top-rope competition before being eliminated by Kevin Owens. Fans chanted Styles’ name throughout the match, which eventually was won by Triple H.
