BOSTON — Paul Pierce is nearing the end of his NBA career, but he still had a few tricks up his sleeve Wednesday in what could be his final game at TD Garden.
The Los Angeles Clippers forward, back in Boston to take on the Celtics, hit a pair of 3-pointers right out of the gate in the first quarter. But neither compared to the shot he made just after the buzzer sounded to end the first half.
To reiterate, Pierce’s heave came after the second quarter ended and didn’t count. But it still was pretty awesome, and the hometown crowd responded with an eruption of cheers for the 38-year-old as he headed to the locker room.
Pierce made plenty of amazing shots during his 15 seasons in Boston, but it’s nice to know he still can put on a show.
