The No. 7 North Carolina Tar Heels avenged their earlier loss to No. 19 Duke on Saturday, topping the Blue Devils 76-72 as 2 1/2-point home favorites to clinch the top seed and +185 favored status on the odds to win the ACC tournament at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

With Saturday’s win over Duke, the Tar Heels closed out the regular season with a 14-4 record in conference play, good for top spot in the ACC standings, one game ahead of both the No. 11 Miami Hurricanes and the No. 4 Virginia Cavaliers.

Miami dropped a shocking 77-62 decision to Virginia Tech on Saturday as six-point road favorites, while the Cavaliers locked up the No. 2 seed with a 68-46 win over the No. 14 Louisville Cardinals on Saturday night.

The Cavaliers also ride a three-game straight-up and against-the-spread win streak into the postseason — including an impressive 79-74 win over UNC on Feb. 27 — and they enter the ACC tournament closely trailing the Tar Heels as a strong +220 bet at the sportsbooks to claim their second tournament crown in three years.

The Hurricanes’ loss to Virginia Tech ended a three-game SU and ATS tear but has done little to diminish their ACC tournament odds, which hold steady at +450, just behind the Blue Devils at +425.

The defending tournament champion Notre Dame Fighting Irish halted a dismal 1-3 SU run with an 89-75 win over North Carolina State on Saturday. They edged Duke for the No. 4 seed, but they trail the Blue Devils at a distant +1400 on the tournament futures.

The Pittsburgh Panthers sit at +1600 on the ACC tournament odds, ahead of Syracuse and Clemson at +2500 and Florida State at +3300. Winners of five straight SU and ATS, Virginia Tech enters the tournament as the hottest team in the conference. However, its recent success has yet to lift its ACC tournament odds, which continue to lag at +25000.

The No. 6 Hokies await the winner of Tuesday afternoon’s Florida State vs. Boston College betting matchup at Verizon Center. Virginia Tech has posted SU and ATS wins over FSU and Boston College during its current win streak. Florida State is a big 13-point favorite against Boston College at the sportsbooks for Tuesday.
