Daniel Nava made a mistake you might expect from a Little League player, but it wound up working out in his favor.

The Los Angeles Angels outfielder caught a Kyle Seager fly ball Tuesday, then flipped the easy out into the stands. However, that was just the second out of the inning, and Stefen Romero was on first base for the Seattle Mariners.

Romero, who was near second when Nava made his blunder, was awarded third base. But, in a strange turn of events, Romero never tagged up at first and was called out after an appeal.

That’s one way to get an unassisted double play.

The game ended in a 4-4 tie, and Nava certainly won’t be making that mistake again.

“I didn’t stay up on my accounting,” Nava said, per The Associated Press. “There’s a first for everything. Knowing the outs is kind of important. That can’t happen in the regular season.”
