Even professional athletes need to work on their fundamentals every once in a while.

Brian Butterfield was mic’d up for a recent practice in Fort Myers, Fla., where the Boston Red Sox third base coach and infield instructor worked with Pablo Sandoval, Xander Bogaerts and Hanley Ramirez on the basics. Butterfield stuck to cementing what each infielder does best, like staying low for Sandoval or running with the ball after the play for Bogaerts.

Butterfield also got in some 1-on-1 time with Ramirez, who is transitioning to first base, to get him accustomed to the motions and positioning he’ll need on the right side of the infield.

Watch it all for yourself in the video above.
