The Boston Bruins will look for a sixth straight win over the Pittsburgh Penguins when they visit the defending Stanley Cup champions Wednesday night as +155 betting underdogs at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Boston ended a three-game slide by topping the Montreal Canadiens 2-1 in overtime as +113 underdogs in a raucous affair on Monday night. The Bruins killed off five penalties against the Habs, improving to 17-for-17 on the penalty kill over their past six games.

The win in Montreal was just the second road victory for the Bruins in their past six games away from home, but Boston is 9-5-2 overall on the road this season.

The Bruins will have their hands full against a Penguins squad that is coming off a resounding 7-0 demolition of the Arizona Coyotes as -330 home favorites on Monday night. The victory extended Pittsburgh’s current win streak to six games as they battle the New York Rangers for the top spot in the Metropolitan Division standings.

While the Penguins have come to be known as a team capable of playing maddening defense, the club’s shooters have caught fire during their recent surge, outscoring opponents by a 35-14 margin and giving up just four total goals over their past three games.

Not surprisingly, the OVER has paid off for totals bettors in each of Pittsburgh’s last 11 games, reaching eight goals in four of the team’s past seven games.

However, the Penguins’ recent prolific performances have done little to move their odds to win the Stanley Cup for a second straight season. Pittsburgh remains among the favorites at +900, up just marginally from opening night when the club was pegged at +1000.

Pittsburgh’s offense has also sputtered in recent dates with the Bruins, scoring just five total goals in its past six clashes, and just four total goals in three straight home losses in the matchup, according to the OddsShark NHL Database.

Following Wednesday’s game, the Bruins immediately return to TD Garden to face the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday. Boston is winless in its past five games against the Ducks, including a pair of home defeats, and it’s on a dismal 3-10 run in the second game when playing on back-to-back nights.
