Patriots Sign Defensive Back Jones

The Patriots added to their defensive depth on Tuesday by announcing the signing of defensive back Herana-Daze Jones.

Jones previously played with the Bengals and Broncos. He signed with the Bengals as a free agent on April 28, 2005, before being released from injured reserve with an injury settlement on Nov. 4, 2008. He went on to sign with the Broncos on Dec. 3, 2008, and was waived on Dec. 10 before re-signing with the team on Dec. 16. Jones was released by the Broncos on June 18, 2009.

A native of Louisville, Jones played in two games for the Broncos last season, recording two tackles. In 30 career games with the Bengals and Broncos, Jones has 45 tackles including 34 solo tackles.
