Chicago to Host Breakout Party for Dustin Pedroia? Tampa Bay hasn't been very kind to the Red Sox this season, but after Thursday night's series-clinching win at the Trop, that all changed. For the majority of the Sox, at least.

One player who struggled against the Rays in the three-game set was second baseman Dustin Pedroia. The reigning AL MVP was only able to pot one hit and a pair of walks in 14 at-bats against Tampa hurlers, bringing his average down from .301 to .295. This all came after a five-game hitting streak going in which he went 7-for-22.

However, things are looking up for Pedroia entering Friday night's Windy City series opener. The two-hole hitter is a .355 lifetime hitter in 18 games against the ChiSox. Six of his 27 career hits against the White Sox have been doubles, while the 5-foot-9 menace has 12 RBIs and six steals to go with seven walks in 76 career at-bats.

Although he has yet to play at U.S. Cellular Field this season, Pedroia is hitting .294 (5-for-17) with two doubles and three RBIs in four games against the Pale Hosers this summer. Also, two of his four career hits have been for extra bases at the Chicago ballpark, including a double and a homer.
