The Yankees promoted outfielder Freddy Guzman to the majors on Monday, The Scranton Times Tribune reports.
Guzman spent time in the Red Sox organization, the Mariners organization and the Orioles organization this season before the Yankees acquired him on Aug. 31. He hit .223 with two home runs and 17 RBIs in 101 games between four Triple-A teams this season. His biggest accomplishment in Triple-A this season was stealing 24 bases on 26 attempts.
In 37 career games in the majors between the Rangers and Padres, Guzman hit .213 with one home run and six RBIs.
Guzman could be added to the Yankees' postseason roster as a pinch
runner, pending the amount of pitchers the club decides to carry.
