The Patriots' upcoming game in London will be the latest added to the quarterback's list, and Brady said he's putting a special emphasis on performing well.
"This is a game that we’ll be remembering for the next 40, 50 years of our life, so we all want to go out and play as well as we can," Brady said Tuesday in his conference call with the London media.
Sunday's game between the Patriots and Buccanneers will be the third NFL regular-season game played in London. Last year, the Saints topped the Chargers 37-32 at Wembley Stadium. The year before, the Giants defeated the Dolphins 13-10 on their way to a Super Bowl season.
Brady said he's not the only one looking forward to the opportunity to play in London.
"[Owner Robert Kraft] is as excited as anybody to play this game," Brady said. "I think this has been something that he’s been looking forward to for a long time. … There’s nothing I would rather do than go out there and have our best game of the year.
"This would be a great game for us all to go out there and play our best."
The conversation had its fair share of humor, with Brady explaining basic facts of Americana (such as California being on the West Coast and the San Francisco 49ers having a quarterback named Joe Montana). But Brady got serious when asked if he thinks he can be a better player after his injury than he was before undergoing season-ending surgery last year.
"Yeah, I certainly do," he said. "Every time that I take the field, there’s something that I'm learning and something that I’m trying to do better. It never stops. It’s one of those games that — it’s a very challenging game — and you really get out of it what you put into it. There are no shortcuts in football. You have to do the work. Physically and mentally, you have to be prepared, and emotionally you have to go out there and give it your all. If you don’t, you’re going to pay the price.
"I’m prepared to do that and it’s something that I’ve made a commitment in my life to do."
Brady also shot down any notion that he spends time thinking about becoming the best quarterback to ever play football.
"I think Joe Montana is the best — that’s ever — player," Brady said. "I don’t think I’ll ever be as good as he [was]. I’m resigned to the fact that I’m going to be the best I can be. … I think what’s most important to me is that I have the respect for the players and coaches that I’m on the team with and that I give everything I have every time I take the field. That’s what’s most important."
