Hours after arriving in the Red Sox clubhouse for his major league debut, Daniel Nava will bat ninth and play left field when the club takes on the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday afternoon.

Nava, who was hitting .294 with eight homers and 38 RBIs at Triple-A Pawtucket, is a switch-hitter, giving the Sox four left-handed bats against Phillies righty Joe Blanton.

Kevin Youkilis is back in the lineup after sitting out Friday's series opener with back issues. He is 7-for-21 (.333) with a home run against Blanton.

Designated hitter David Ortiz, who took Youkilis' cleanup spot Friday night, is a .304 (7-for-23) hitter when facing Blanton, who saw the Sox several times as a member of the Oakland A's.
