Yamaico Navarro Making First Career Major League Start

Yamaico Navarro got his first taste of major league action on Friday night, and on Saturday, he'll be making his first start.

The 22-year-old Dominican native will start at second base and bat eighth. He went 1-for-3 on Friday, singling down the line on the first pitch he saw. Perhaps he got a little bit of advice from Daniel Nava, who famously hit a grand slam on the first major league pitch he saw earlier this season.

Marco Scutaro, despite his shoulder problems, will bat leadoff and play shortstop, with J.D. Drew filling the two-hole in a lineup that boasts some gaudy numbers against Blue Jays starter Ricky Romero.

Adrian Beltre, hitting fifth, has been trouble for Romero, with a .600 batting average and .750 on-base percentage in his five plate appearances against the lefty. Cleanup hitter David Ortiz is 8-for-16 against Romero, with five doubles and a home run. Though he has those six extra-base hits, he also has four strikeouts.

Bill Hall, who's starting in left and batting seventh, is 3-for-7 with a homer in his career against Romero, with the homer taking place on July 9, when the Red Sox won 14-3. Victor Martinez is also batting .357 against Romero in 14 at-bats.

The complete Red Sox lineup is below.

4. David Ortiz, DH
5. Adrian Beltre, 3B
6. Mike Lowell, 1B
