Clay Buchholz Ends Skid, Wins Pitcher of the Week Clay Buchholz’s 5-1 win against the Seattle Mariners was his first win since late-August, as he snapped his three-game winless skid.

The victory also earned him the title of Amica Pitcher of the Week.

The right-hander allowed five earned runs on five hits in just one inning against Oakland on Sept. 10. But he bounced back in his next outing on Sept. 15 in Seattle, lowering his ERA to 2.48, still second lowest in the AL to Felix Hernandez’s 2.39.

Buchholz allowed just one run on four hits in seven innings in Wednesday’s win at Seattle. He struck out six and walked three. The righty has allowed one earned run or fewer in seven of his last 10 starts.

He currently holds a record of 16-7 on the year.
