Patriots fans who were hoping to wake up Wednesday morning to find that all the Randy Moss trade talk from Tuesday night was just a bad dream are going to be disappointed.

According to the Boston Herald's Ian Rapoport, who spoke with a "source with intimate knowledge of the situation," a Moss trade to Minnesota is likely to be completed on Wednesday.

"That means that this person believes Moss will become a Vikings receiver by the end of Wednesday," reported Rapoport. "Nothing is certain, of course, but things are moving extremely quickly."

Rapoport also adds that despite earlier reports, there has been no conversation between the Vikings and Moss regarding a contract extension.

In terms of what the Patriots would receive in return, ESPN's Adam Schefter reaffirmed earlier reports that New England would receive Minnesota's third-round pick.
