‘Consistency’ Continues to Be Magic Word for Liverpool in Constant Quest for Improvement

Perhaps the most frustrating thing for Liverpool fans at the moment is the apparent lack of consistency surrounding the club.

A week after an impressive 2-0 victory over Chelsea at Anfield, the Reds suffered a disheartening 2-0 loss at the hands of Stoke, with a lethargic 1-1 draw with Wigan sandwiched in between.

Consistency remains to be a bugaboo for the Reds, but if you ask anyone within the club, it’s something they’re working on fixing.

“Every game is difficult in this league and we have got to take each one as it comes,” LFC assistant manager Sammy Lee told the LFC website. “We got a great result against Chelsea and then followed it up with two indifferent results.

“We are all asking that question about consistency, none more so the players,” he offered. “These players want to improve, get better and be more consistent.”

Lee also said that it’s not just the players striving for improved consistency. With the new ownership in place, the remaining fixtures will likely prove to continue to be an open audition for manager Roy Hodgson and his staff.

West Ham United visits Anfield on Saturday to take on the Reds.
