Rex Ryan's Trash Talking Reinforces Contrasts in Jets-Patriots Rivalry Bill Belichick won't talk a whole lot of trash, but Rex Ryan isn’t afraid to fire an entire garbage truck out of his pie hole.

That's part of what has made the Patriots-Jets rivalry so intoxicating for the last two seasons. Each team, led by its own brand of a head coach, has a very unique style. And with a week and a half leading up to next week's epic clash, the Jets will have more time than normal to tell the world how great they are.

The Patriots, per their preferred way, will sit back and listen.

Ryan already started it up Thursday night. Before the New Meadowlands even emptied out, Ryan said the Jets were looking forward to ending Tom Brady's 25-game home winning streak.

"I don’t care what people believe. I know what I believe," Ryan told the Herald. "Our football team believes that we can beat anybody. They’ve won 25 straight at home, we’ve won eight straight on the road, so we plan on making it nine. I know it’s going to be tough, but we’re just the men for the job."

Ryan also said he's got confidence. The Patriots, who have the NFL's highest-scoring offense, won't be moving the ball up and down the field against the Jets.

These teams have been through this drill three times already, with Ryan saying he wouldn’t pucker up to Belichick's Lombardi jewels, and that he hates the Patriots, and that he doesn’t like Brady. To be fair, the latter two verbal jabs were in response to Brady's not-so-subtle acknowledgement that he hates the Jets.

So, there it is. Two teams with two vastly different styles will square off for the inside track at the AFC East crown. And if you don’t know, just perk up your ears and let the Jets tell you about it.

This was the second installment of a 10-day series that will highlight 10 reasons to get excited for the Patriots-Jets matchup next Monday night.
