Vote: Is Rajon Rondo the Best Point Guard in the NBA? Rajon Rondo may not be a member of the Big Three, but the fifth-year pro has proven just how important he is to the Celtics, as the team is just 7-4 without him this season.

The C’s hit a rough patch without Rondo in the lineup, going 1-3 in the final four games of the 2010 calender year. Upon returning from an ankle injury that kept him out of seven straight contests, Rondo has led the first-place Celtics to three straight wins.

On Wednesday night in Boston, Rondo and the C’s took down the league’s top team, the San Antonio Spurs, thanks to the point guard’s second triple-double of the 2010-11 season. The Spurs entered the contest with a league-best 29-5 record and will likely become the league’s first 30-game winner this season when they take on the Pacers on Friday night.

Is Rondo (10.7 points, 14 assists per game) the best guard in the NBA? The competition is pretty steep, to say the least. Let’s take a look at four other elite floor generals across the NBA.

Derek Rose, Bulls: 23.8 points, 8.3 assists per game.

Chris Paul, Hornets: 16.7 points, 9.8 assists per game.

Deron Williams, Jazz: 22.1 points, 9.3 assists per game.

Steve Nash, Suns: 16.9 points, 10.5 assists per game.
