Marshawn Lynch’s 67-Yard Game-Winner a Challenger for Greatest Run of All Time

As unbelievable as Marshawn Lynch‘s game-winning 67-yard masterpiece was, it was nearly impossible to fathom what had happened when watching the Seattle-New Orleans shootout Saturday evening.

Lynch had just given us one of the greatest runs in the history of the NFL.

The notion seems almost unfathomable, given that we’re talking about Marshawn Lynch — the first-round bust who lost his job to Fred Jackson in Buffalo and hadn’t done a thing since arriving in Seattle, 7-9 Seattle, that is.

Lynch, as you’d expect, downplayed the achievement and thanked his offensive line.

“I was just pretty determined, man — determined,” Lynch said. “It’s something to build off going into next week. I feel it was a pretty good feeling for us all. The offensive line did a great job of getting me to the secondary and I think,” he told Seahawks.com.

Still, what run can compare to it? He literally broke eight tackles — it’s often said that runners “evade the entire defense,” but Lynch actually did. He looked like Steve Young carving up the Vikings — a former candidate for greatest run of all time.

Not only that, but Lynch’s play was the clincher in an unparalleled Cinderella story, the worst team in playoff history beating the defending champions.

It’s sort of unbelievable to say, but Marshawn Lynch is now part of football legend — deservedly so.
