Just a few days after grabbing Luis Suarez from Ajax, Liverpool appears to be looking to add another star to the mix.

Newcastle United have rejected a £30 million ($47.5 million) bid for striker Andy Carroll from an "unnamed Premier League club," widely reported to be Liverpool, according to ESPN.

Rumors indicate that the Reds are preparing to be without Fernando Torres, despite recently rejecting a transfer request by Chelsea late last week.

"If someone's going to go, you've got to have a replacement," said LFC manager Kenny Dalglish, who also stressed that the team was not in favor of selling Torres.

Carroll, a 22-year-old England international, has 11 goals in 19 games.
