Carlos Arroyo looks to be the next participant in the long line of Celtics backup point guards.

According to multiple reports, the Celtics have signed the veteran point guard to give the C's some depth behind starter Rajon Rondo. According to the Boston Herald, the deal is a pro-rated veteran's minimum contract for the remainder of the season. The Herald also reports that the deal is pending a physical, and that Arroyo could join the team for Sunday's game in Milwaukee.

The 31-year-old native of Puerto Rico was just recently let go by Miami. The Heat no longer needed Arroyo after they picked up Mike Bibby, after he was bought out by the Wizards.

Arroyo started 42 games with Miami, averaging 5.6 points and two assists per contest. He's expected to serve as a backup for Rondo, especially with the continuing injury concerns for Delonte West.
