Should Bruins Try Using Tyler Seguin on Power Play? The Bruins will begin the Eastern Conference Final on Saturday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning. B's fans haven't had much to complain about with their team making it this far, but if there's one area of play everyone would like to see improved, it would have to be the power play.

The Bruins' power play showed signs of life toward the end of the Philadelphia series when Milan Lucic and Zdeno Chara both scored on the man advantage in the B's sweep of the Flyers.

However, those two goals helped raise the Boston power-play conversion percentage to 5.4 percent. That's obviously nothing to write home about.

When the unit was struggling early in the playoffs, many fans were calling for Tyler Seguin to be inserted into Claude Julien's lineup. Fans wanted to shake things up, and Seguin seemed like the logical choice.

The 19-year-old has been a healthy scratch throughout the playoffs, as Julien has decided not to play the rookie. Seguin has shown too many defensive lapses throughout his first season, a big red flag in Julien's system.

Those shortcomings aside, however, there's no doubting that Seguin is already a special offensive talent. With the Bruins up a man, Seguin would have the chance to stretch the ice some and show off his blazing speed and unending offensive potential.

Now, he's forced to step in for Patrice Bergeron to begin the series with the Lightning, as the veteran forward sits with a concussion. Seguin's icetime will likely still be limited, especially in crunch time, but he could be a candidate to see some shifts on the power play.
