Who Will Be the Amica Pitcher of the Week This Week?

After bringing out the brooms in the Bronx, the Red Sox will spend the next seven days back at Fenway, playing a pair of two-game sets before kicking off interleague play against a very unfamiliar foe, the Chicago Cubs.

Daisuke Matsuzaka will be taking the hill on Monday against the Orioles, fresh off a winning, albeit mediocre, outing against the Twins. Matsuzaka's posted a 7.71 ERA in his two May starts, but just when we counted him out in April, he pitched 15 straight scoreless innings. He'll be followed in the rotation by John Lackey, who will similarly be looking to turn things around.

Detroit's visit to Fenway will include outings from Clay Buchholz and Josh Beckett, both of whom have been stellar in May. Buchholz is a perfect 3-0 with a 1.93 ERA during the month, but he has been one-upped by Beckett, who has yet to allow an earned run in three May starts.

When the Cubs make their first-ever regular-season visit to Fenway on Friday, they'll have the pleasure of facing Jon Lester, whose form has dipped somewhat in his last two starts. After going six starts allowing a total of seven runs, he's let nine opponents cross the plate in his past two outings.
