Vote: Which Is the Greatest Three Home Run Performance in World Series History?Game 3 of the World Series featured just the third player and fourth time in MLB history that a player hit three home runs in a World Series game. Albert Pujols joined Babe Ruth and Reggie Jackson as the only players to accomplish the feat as the Cardinals defeated the Rangers 17-6 to take a 2-1 series lead.

Ruth hit three home runs in a World Series game twice, in 1926 and 1928. During Game 4 of the 1926 World Series, Ruth hit two solo shots and a two-run home run to propel the Yankees to a 10-5 victory. However, the Cardinals would fight back to win the series in seven games.

Just two years later the Yankees and Cardinals were in the World Series again. This time the Yankees would sweep the Cardinals in four games thanks to Ruth's three home runs in the clinching Game 4.

The 1977 series between the Yankees and Dodgers saw Jackson hit three home runs in Game 6. The Yankees would win the game 8-4 and clinch another World Series for the franchise. Jackson had five home runs in the series.

Pujols had an arguably better game than Ruth or Jackson on Saturday. He went 5 for 6 from the plate with three long balls and six RBIs. His 14 total bases set a single-game record in the World Series. Only one other player, Paul Molitor, ever had five hits in a World Series game.
