Report: Miami Dolphins’ Quest for Head Coach Down to Mike McCoy, Joe Philbin

Since early December, the Miami Dolphins have been searching frantically to fill the void left by fired head coach Tony Sparano. And according to the Miami Herald, the search is almost over.

The Dolphins have been in contact with Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy along with the Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin. Both coaches will look to provide a spark to the Dolphins' surprisingly colorless offense, which lived and died with the play of running back Reggie Bush this season.

Philbin has also interviewed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a very similar team to the 2011 Dolphins, as both teams greatly underacheived this year's expectations, and had to deal with incredibly inconsistent offenses.
