Vote: What Was the Biggest Storyline From Sunday's 17-Inning Red Sox Game?Sunday's game against the Baltimore Orioles offered plenty that fans don't usually get to see on a given afternoon.

The obvious one was that the game went 17 innings and about six hours.

But it never would have gotten there if not for Will Middlebrooks, who returned to the lineup and hit a bomb of a grand slam well over the Green Monster to get the Red Sox back in it. Middlebrooks' performance in the bigs will now add to speculation about whether he should be on the major league roster permanently.

Middlebrooks' helpful hit came after a shaky start from Clay Buchholz, who failed to make it out of the fourth inning and gave up five earned runs on seven hits and four walks. Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine has said he's sticking with Buchholz, but Sunday's numbers will likely have more people doubting the starter.

The early deficit and Red Sox comeback soon dissolved into an inning-by-inning crawl, with each side failing to get past the 6-6 mark. The Boston bullpen did an admirable job keeping the Sox in it, but eventually both teams ran out of relievers.

That's when the Red Sox called on Darnell McDonald. The outfielder took the mound, and while he did get the three outs needed, he also gave up three runs on a homer. When Boston failed to match his effort in the bottom of the 17th, that was the game.

In a day of ups and downs for the Red Sox, with big performances and developing storylines, what do you think stood out from Sunday's game?
