Clay Buchholz to Make Rehab Start in Pawtucket as He Works His Way Off Disabled ListClay Buchholz, like many Red Sox players, has spent time on the disabled list. How he got there is a bit more unconventional.

Buchholz was battling a nasty gastrointestinal virus that sapped his strength and sent him to the disabled list in late June. He's since recovered from the bug, though, and is working his way back toward the starting rotation.

Buchholz will start in Pawtucket at 1 p.m. Sunday in a game that will be shown live on NESN. He's expected to throw about 40 pitches, with the Red Sox hoping he'll be ready for the first series after the All-Star break, the team said Saturday.
