Earl Smith III, better known to the populous as J.R. Smith of the New York Knicks, has always had crazy ups and loads of untapped skills. Until this year, though, Smith has mostly been known for falling short of living up to his potential on a nightly basis.

Now Smith is having the best season of his career this season with the Knicks, and he still has the hops that make him one of the NBA’s most highlight-worthy players. On Thursday, he flashed those physical abilities by turning a standard pass from Knicks guard Pablo Prigioni into a jaw-dropping, reverse alley-oop dunk.
