Corey Dickerson Swings at Ball that Bounces Three Feet in Front of Home Plate, Connects for Trick-Shot Double (Video)

Trick shots are hard to come by in baseball, but Corey Dickerson was able to record one of his own on Friday night.

The Rockies outfielder kicked off Colorado’s five-run seventh inning with a standup double to right field. The two-bagger wasn’t a standard hit, however, as Dickerson was fooled by a breaking ball that actually bounced about three feet in front of the plate. Somehow and someway, Dickerson’s bat found the ball when it made its way up from the dirt, and he connected for a solid hit into the outfield.

“We’re playing cricket out there,” Dickerson told his teammates after he made his way back into the dugout, via The Associated Press.
