Harlem Globetrotter Breaks Guinness World Record by Sinking 109-Foot Basket (Video)

The Harlem Globetrotters are famous for their play around the rim — or, more often than not, above it. Their latest stunt, however, took place far, far away from the basket.

Standing four rows deep into the stands at Phoenix’s US Airways Center, Globetrotters rookie Thunder Law heaved a basketball toward the hoop on the far side of the court. The shot was dead-on, and it cemented Law’s spot in the record books.

At 109 feet, 9 inches, the bucket broke the Guinness World Record for the longest made shot by more than five feet — though the bros over at Dude Perfect may have something to say about that.

Perhaps Law was able to soak in some positive mojo from the arena’s usual occupants, the Suns, who are off to a promising 5-3 start after finishing dead last in the Western Conference last season.
