Mike Trout is a freak, and that’s in absolutely the best way possible.

The Los Angeles Angels phenom is putting the finishing touches on another MVP-caliber season on one of the major leagues’ best teams. He proved Friday night that he’s not going to let up at all heading into the postseason.

Trout made another sensational defensive play against the Seattle Mariners. Mariners designated hitter Kendrys Morales smoked a pitch in the eighth inning on Friday night that looked destined for extra bases. The screaming line drive was sent to center field, which is where Trout had a beat on it. Trout somehow ran it down and made a leaping grab to snare the liner out of the air.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said he thought the web gem “looked like a video game.”

That’s also meant in absolutely the best way possible.
