West Ham forward Enner Valencia punished Hull City’s Michael Dawson and Allan McGregor for blinking.
Valencia scored a stunning goal in his team’s 2-2 draw against Hull City in a Premier League game on Monday.
Five minutes into the second half, Valencia dribbled inside, as Dawson tracked him. Valencia stood up the Hull City defender, created space with another touch then unleashed a rocket from 25 yards out, which beat the diving McGregor.
The goal was Valencia’s first for West Ham, and it came in his first start for the club. The 24-year-old Ecuadoran joined the Hammers this summer in a £12 million ($19.5 million) transfer from Mexican club Pachuca.
NBC Sports clocked Valencia’s goal at 68 mph. Valencia’s shot was hit so powerfully, and with minimal back-lift, that it reminds us not to blink when the ball is near the penalty area.
