Will MiddlebrooksThe Boston Red Sox will wrap up their 10-game road trip Thursday night when they take on the New York Yankees in the series finale of their three-game set.

Brandon Workman, who was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket on Wednesday, will get the start for Boston. The big right-hander returns from his brief stint in the minors, searching for some consistency facing left-hander Chris Capuano. Workman was absolutely rocked in his major league start, surrendering seven runs on 10 hits over 3 1/3 innings during an Aug. 23 loss to the Seattle Mariners.

The 26-year-old has suffered the loss in each of his last eight appearances, but he did earn the win during his most recent start in Pawtucket, allowing just one earned run on three hits over 6 2/3 innings.

As for the guys behind Workman, Will Middlebrooks will return to the lineup after getting the night off on Tuesday. The slumping third baseman will bat seventh, while Brock Holt who filled in at the hot corner yesterday, will shift over to second base and leadoff once again. First baseman Mike Napoli will also return to the lineup, as Allen Craig will move to right field.
