NFL: Adrian Peterson-ArraignmentAdrian Peterson is out of jail on $15,000 bond, but that may not be the case for much longer.

Prosecutors in the Minnesota Vikings running back’s case are asking that his bond be revoked and he be arrested again for a drug violation. According to their motion, which was posted by Deadspin, Peterson admitted during a urine test Wednesday that he had “smoked a little weed.”

“During this process, the defendant admitted to Justin Whitehead, an employee of Davis Investigations, which conducts urinalysis testing for this Court; that he smoked a little weed,” the motion reads. “In light of this statement, and the fact that it was made during the urinalysis testing process, and the term ‘weed’ is a common slang term for marijuana, the State argues that the defendant has smoked marijuana while on bond for the current offense.”

Peterson is on trial after being charged with one count of negligent injury to a child for allegedly beating his 4-year-old son with a tree branch. It’s unclear when there will be action on the motion to incarcerate Peterson, as the presiding judge on the case is facing a recusal hearing Friday.
