Aqib Talib has an interesting perspective on the New England Patriots-Denver Broncos rivalry.
The cornerback was inserted into the rivalry two seasons ago when the Patriots acquired him at the trade deadline. When he became a free agent this offseason — after considering a return to New England — Talib decided to sign with the Broncos.
That means that, at the height of the rivalry, Talib has seen both sides. He has played for both coaches, played with both quarterbacks and played in both stadiums. When it comes to that last thing, he has an opinion as to which venue is more difficult to play in as a visitor.
Talib sat down for a question-and-answer session with ESPN ahead of Sunday’s Broncos-Patriots game, and he admitted it’s tougher to play at Sports Authority Field in Denver than it is to play at Foxboro’s Gillette Stadium.
“It’s a rowdier atmosphere, and the altitude (plays a role),” Talib said.
Talib also reiterated that he believes Peyton Manning was a better quarterback than Tom Brady, but he was quick to add that he couldn’t pick against his former teammate. Talib said the same thing back in May.
Talib, of course, will have a reminder of what it’s like to play in Foxboro as a visitor Sunday when the teams kick off at 4:25 p.m.
