Gordie HoweHockey legend Gordie Howe’s career was full of amazing moments.

According to his son, the former Detroit Red Wing and Hartford Whaler known as “Mr. Hockey” isn’t doing so well these days after suffering his second stroke. Renowned for being one of the toughest players in NHL history, though, Howe was as skilled as they come.

Howe currently is second on the NHL’s all-time scoring list with 801 career goals, trailing only Wayne Gretzky. Howe’s career was filled with great highlights and amazing storylines, including his remarkable comeback from a devastating head injury in 1950.

Howe even played a shift with the Detroit Vipers of the IHL at 70 — that’s right, 70 — years old.
