The New England Patriots will continue an old-fashioned road trip in Week 14 when they visit the San Diego Chargers on “Sunday Night Football.”
The Patriots traveled to face the Green Bay Packers in Week 13, and rather than travel back to Massachusetts, they continued on to San Diego. They will practice at UC San Diego this week in preparation for the Chargers.
The Patriots have opened as field-goal favorites over the Chargers, and the total is set at 50.5 points. New England is 4-1 against the spread in its last five games as the team continues to climb the Super Bowl odds, and 4-2 ATS in its last six games against San Diego. After a strong start to the season, San Diego has gone 1-6 ATS in its last seven games.
Week 14 features four games that already have seen their spreads get into double digits at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Detroit opened as an 8.5-point favorite over Tampa Bay, but the line is up to 10.5 at some sportsbooks. Denver has climbed as high as an 11.5-point home favorite against Buffalo. The Broncos are 6-3 ATS in their last nine games but 1-5 ATS in their last six against the Bills, according to the OddsShark NFL Database.
Finally, Green Bay hosts Atlanta on “Monday Night Football” as an 11.5-point favorite, with one sportsbook going up to 13 points. This is technically a matchup of division leaders, but the Falcons are stumbling at 3-6 ATS in their last nine games. The Packers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games.
The biggest road favorite is San Francisco over Oakland. The 49ers opened as touchdown favorites, but the line has climbed to eight or nine points on the Week 14 NFL betting lines. The 49ers are 2-4 ATS in their last six games but 11-3-2 ATS in their last 16 road games. The Raiders are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five against the 49ers.
The next closest spread belongs to the Dallas Cowboys on the road against the Chicago Bears on “Thursday Night Football.” The Cowboys are 3.5-point favorites in a season in which it is 6-6 ATS and the Bears are 5-7. Chicago is 4-2 ATS in its last six against Dallas.
