World-famous astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson weighed in on the seemingly never-ending saga Monday night, taking to Twitter to debunk Bill Belichick’s explanation for the under-inflated footballs. In Saturday’s press conference, the New England Patriots head coach claimed “atmospheric conditions” caused the balls to lose air pressure, but Tyson isn’t buying it.

Wilson, the NFL’s official football manufacturer, also said Belichick’s explanation didn’t add up on Monday, while Bill Nye the Science Guy expressed skepticism, as well.
But prominent scientists aren’t the only ones with opinions on this controversy. Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf returned from a two-year Twitter absence to chime in with his two cents on the matter.

Leaf’s silence on the Twitter front wasn’t exactly by choice, as the former No. 2 overall pick in the 1998 draft has been in prison for most of the past two years. The NFL bust was released in December, and it’s safe to say not many people would have expected him to make such a reasonable point.
The Patriots reportedly turned over a surveillance video to the league that shows a locker room attendant taking 24 footballs into a bathroom for 90 seconds.
