Raheem Sterling is an example to employees around the world. We all should go on vacation from time to time.

Sterling scored a spectacular solo goal in Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the first leg of the Capital One Cup semifinal. Sterling demonstrated a litany of his skills and showed why the future might be now for Liverpool.

Liverpool was trailing 1-0 in the 59th minute when Sterling gained possession in Chelsea’s midfield, raced toward the Blues’ goal, leaving midfielder Nemanja Matic and defender Gary Cahill in his wake. Sterling then beat goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois with a well-placed finish.

Sterling’s goal triggered delirious celebrations at Anfield, as Liverpool restored parity in a game which it controlled throughout.

Sterling, 20, only was playing in his second game following his much-publicized, mid-season vacation in his native Jamaica. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers gave Sterling a break earlier this month with hopes that the 20-year-old would be fresh in Liverpool’s big games later in the season.

Sterling vindicated Rodgers’ decision with a show-stopping goal and a fine overall performance against Chelsea.

The goal was Sterling’s fourth in the Capital One Cup and eighth in all competitions this season. This strike was the best of the bunch.
