When it comes to Johnny Manziel and making headlines, there is no offseason.

Believe it or not, the Cleveland Browns quarterback was at the center of yet another incident over the weekend, TMZ Sports reported. According to the site, Manziel had drinks thrown on him at a Houston nightclub after he flipped off some hecklers who were “aggressively” attempting to take pictures of him and yelling at him.

TMZ quoted a man named “J.R.,” who works for Sticky Promotions and was with Manziel that night, saying, “I ducked and I looked at Johnny and we grabbed security and they ran us out of there.”

Manziel and his crew reportedly left the club to change clothes and returned when club security informed them the drink throwers had been kicked out.

ESPN.com Pat McManamon’s also spoke to the same person from the TMZ story via phone, but identified him as Jay R, and he downplayed the entire altercation. Jay R told McManamon that a drink was “splashed” on Manziel, who was innocent in the entire situation.

Jay R added that he never saw Johnny Football flip anyone off because everything happened so quickly.

“The thing is, in the situation people are trying to make something out of nothing,” Jay R said, via ESPN.com. “That whole blowup happened, and Johnny Manziel had nothing to do with it. It was an angry fan or somebody who didn’t like him. It was something, but nothing of the caliber it’s being made to be. People always attacking Johnny. We were there a couple minutes and it all happened real quick.”
