Seahawks Praise Tom Brady’s Awesome Trash-Talking Ability For Patriots

Tom Brady can really flap his gums.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, who has a history with Brady, said earlier this week that the New England Patriots quarterback is more “fiery” than the rest of the NFL signal-callers. Several of Sherman’s teammates agree, making it clear that Brady is a fantastic trash-talker in addition to a future Hall of Fame QB.

“I like it because it makes him feisty,” Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett said, according to CSNNE.com. “I think him talking just really makes you want to play harder. But also it’s just him being himself. He’s just got that swagger that most people wish they had. Most people wish they had (Brady’s wife) Giselle (Bundchen). He just does a great job of just being who he is.”

Brady, currently in his 15th season, is seeking his fourth Super Bowl ring this Sunday against Seattle. He’s a two-time NFL MVP, a 10-time Pro Bowler and one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. Yet the 37-year-old isn’t resting on his laurels. He’s still extremely competitive, which often translates to smack talk on the gridiron.

“You can tell he plays with passion,” Seahawks defensive end Cliff Avril told CSNNE.com. “He loves what he does, he’s passionate about it and I’m not surprised he talks trash. Most quarterbacks won’t say anything to you, but he definitely will.”

Brady’s “swagger” surely rubs some players the wrong way. Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, for example, isn’t Brady’s biggest fan. Brady’s passion — often manifested through his animated demeanor — certainly adds intrigue, though. In fact, it’s welcomed by opponents in some instances.

“It’s exciting. It makes the game a lot more fun,” Seahawks defensive tackle Tony McDaniel told CSNNE.com. “Most competitive quarterbacks, especially at his level, don’t say much. They’re just action. But to have a guy that’s that good and actually talking trash, it kind of makes a guy like myself more excited to play harder. It adds a little more spice to the game, a quarterback talking trash and somebody like Tom Brady.

“I think it’s so hilarious for a guy like him, who you think is a poster boy, and then he gets out there and he’s talking trash. I think it’s pretty funny actually.”

Funny and effective.
