Charles Barkley usually provides pretty good basketball analysis. His insight during a recent NCAA Tournament game, though, only can be described as “turrible.”

The TNT analyst, who usually sticks to NBA games, has ventured into the collegiate tourney and was on the network’s halftime show for Sunday’s Round of 32 matchup between Kansas and Wichita State. Here’s what he had to say.

Barkley praised the play of freshman forward Cliff Alexander, which was nice. Except Alexander hasn’t played since Feb. 23 due to an ongoing NCAA investigation about his eligibility and didn’t even travel with the team to the tournament.

Get ’em next time, Chuck.

Barkley was right that Frank Mason III needed to stay out of foul trouble, as the sophomore guard ended up fouling out with under three minutes to play. So there’s that.

The second-seeded Jayhawks went on to lose 78-65 to the seventh-seeded Shockers, so we’re guessing Barkley’s slip-up was the least of their worries.
