Kevin Garnett and Austin Rivers have known each other a long time — from Garnett’s days with the Boston Celtics, when Rivers would hang around the practice complex while his dad, Doc, coached.
But they definitely didn’t act like old friends Monday.
Garnett is known for being chippy on the court, and Rivers told reporters he’d simply had enough. Doc Rivers, who now coaches his son on the Los Angeles Clippers, jokingly offered the simplest solution to the spat.
“I thought Austin should have punched him, personally,” he said.
