Not too long ago, T.Y. Green was toting guns. Now, he’s working on sculpting them.

Green was a member of one of Boston’s most violent gangs and had been in and out of prison when he was shot in a gang fight. That’s when John Feinman, founder of Inner-City Weightlifting in Dorchester, reached out. Feinman’s gym targets young men and women who have been deemed “dangerous” and offers them a second chance to get back on the right track.

Green took Feinman up on the offer, and now he’s reaping the benefits. He has left the gangs behind, is taking college courses with hopes for a business degree and is, in every sense of the word, getting stronger.

Check out Green’s story and learn more about Inner-City Weightlifting in the video above.
