Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell looks to be playing the percentages for Tuesday night.

The Red Sox will begin a three-game series with the Tampa Bay Rays, and Daniel Nava will be in the lineup and playing first base for the opener versus Tampa Bay right-hander Chris Archer. Nava has owned Archer over his career, going 5-for-6 with a home run against the righty.

Nava enters the lineup for Mike Napoli who conversely has struggled against Archer in his career, going 1-for-12.

Xander Bogaerts also is getting the night off in favor of Brock Holt at shortstop.

Hanley Ramirez, who left Monday’s Patriots’ Day matinee with an illness, is back in the lineup in his customary cleanup position and playing left field.

The Red Sox will hand the ball to Wade Miley, who is looking for his first win in a Boston uniform. The left-hander was roughed up in his last start, allowing seven earned runs in just 2 1/3 innings of work.
